Childcare Funding

Where the safety and well-being of your child is concerned it is important to select the best childcare and education that you are able to afford.  In order to help you calculate this it is useful to be aware of what financial help is available.  Outlined briefly below are details of the assistance, which may be availble to you.  The nursery management will happy to discuss these in more detail.

Childcare Vouchers

Childcare Vouchers are a scheme some employers offer to help working parents save on registered childcare costs.  Childcare vouchers are not means-tested and are available to all working parents whose employers operate childcare voucher schemes.  These schemes can save you National Insurance (NI) and Income Tax as a set weekly amount can be deducted from your salary and used to provide childcare vouchers for the same amount.  The amount is deducted from the gross salary and is exempt from National Insurance and Income Tax.  Sunshine Nursery accepts childcare vouchers.

Early Years Free Entitlement

It is our duty to explain to parents how the Early Education Funding (EEF) will be delivered to parents, and how this will reflected in our billing arrangements in the future.  The hourly rate for EEF has been calculated at £4.50 for the financial year 2017/2018.  Therefore, for settings like Sunshine Nursery open beyond 3 hours per day and 15 hours per week, parents will be charged additional parental contributions for the nursery to remain sustainable.  These contributions will include the extra benefits and additional services that children receive and enjoy at Sunshine Nursery.

For example:

  • Time beyond the EEF funded session times

  • Higher staffing ratios than those recommended by Ofsted

  • Specialist teaching and a highly qualified staff team, again above and beyond the specified regulatory requirements

  • Extra activities, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

  • Leavers Book

  • Outings

  • Visitors to the nursery

  • Ingredients for cooking and food for celebrations i.e. Diwali, Christmas and Chinese New Year

  • Snacks are included in the fees

Nappies, wipes etc are to be provided by the child's parent/carer.

All EEF funding will be taken off at the point of delivery.  In simple terms, this means that your EEF funding will be taken off your total invoice at the beginning of each term at a rate of £4.50 per hour, up to a maximum of 15 hours per week.  This amount will appear on your invoice each term.  The initial payment of fees will be determined by the child's commencement date with us and will include all sessions booked from that date, up to, and including the remainder of that particular week, month or term.

We also take children on the 2 year old funding offer, please contact us to find out more about this.
