Lisa Lowden
Nursery Owner/Manager/Key Person

Following a 14-year period as a nanny for a family in Southwest London, I joined a nursery school in 2006. I became Manager after achieving a Diploma in Pre-School Practice (CACHE Level 3), and completing numerous courses as part of my own Continuous Personal Development.

In 2008 I opened Sunshine Nursery at Kitson Hall, Barnes initially as an afternoon session nursery. I then had the opportunity to move the nursery to our current premises in April 2013. I love working with children and enjoy the challenge of helping them to achieve their milestones and watching them grow and achieve in all they do.

My interests include reading, travel and jogging.

Hello I’m Lauren and have worked in childcare since the age of 16 doing my apprenticeship to get my Childcare NVQ Level 3.  I worked in a private nursery in Fulham for 3 years,  then moved onto Lowther Primary School (Nursery) and was there for a year and a half before I moved onto working as a childminder assistant and fell pregnant with my first child.
I am now starting Sunshine and look forward to developing more skills and caring for children which is my passion and watching them develop

Testimonials

What parents say about Sunshine Nursery

"My son went to Sunshine nursery for three years, and now it's a second year for my daughter. At Sunshine, every child is treated as an individual and respected for his or her own wishes and personalities. Teachers are very kind and cheerful, and have a deep relationship both with children and parents. There are a lot of fun activities for the kids, but also opportunities to explore and learn. Above all, I feel that children are happy and safe at Sunshine”.

"My son goes to Sunshine Nursery and is incredibly happy there. The structure they provide has been superb in providing Thomas with a constructive and fun environment in which to learn. I have noticed such a difference in his development and in how happy he generally is. The staff are fantastic and very supportive and nurturing, and clearly have all the children's best interests at heart when dealing with any issues that may arise. I have also found their feedback very honest and transparent, and delivered in a thoughtful manner. I can't thank Lisa and the girls enough for creating such a fantastic environment and culture in which my child can happily learn”.

Simon

"Our daughter absolutely loves to go to Sunshine Nursery every day. She has become a confident and very happy child since she joined about 24 months ago. Coming from a non-native English speaking family, our daughter’s knowledge of English was very limited when she joined, but it has enormously improved, thanks to the staff that are professional, friendly and genuinely caring people. We could not ask for anyone better to look after our child. Activities are well organised and importantly fun and engaging for the children; her favourites are Thursday music class, painting and baking cakes. I would strongly recommend Sunshine Nursery to anyone”.

"We looked at a couple of different nurseries, before deciding on the Sunshine. We could have picked a nursery where hours and location were a better suit, but we have not regretted choosing the Sunshine. Lisa has the gift of seeing the beauty in every child, she really understands what makes them "tick". And the teachers are very approachable and happy to chat to you about your child's progress”.

Sunshine mum

“Our kids have been really happy and thriving at the Sunshine nursery. I think it's down to the teachers and their teaching style. They seem to care first and foremost about making sure our kids felt good about themselves, their emotional development if you like. That was always the most important part for us, because then they will do well too. Both my kids have left the Sunshine ready for "big school".

Twice Sunshine mum

"Sunshine Nursery does exactly what it says on the tin. A true breath of fresh air that offers children fun, excitement and learning in bright, airy premises and a fantastic garden filled with swings, slide, sandpit, climbers, stepping stones, trees to play hide and seek amongst, and not one but two playhouses! Lisa and her staff are excellent. Their abilities extend far beyond the required legislative standards. They are empathetic, supportive and creative, and I have total faith in them to care for and nurture my two girls as I would myself. Nothing is too much trouble; communication is clear and information forthcoming and easy to access. As a parent I feel involved and my views are respected and acted upon. I rate Lisa and her staff really highly and cannot recommend them enough”.
